Maintenance work on the backbone core

On April 16, 2025, maintenance will be carried out on the TUnet backbone core routers between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

New core switches are being put into operation for the institute server housing. These new core switches are designed as a fabric. All server housing locations will then gradually be connected to these fabric cores. This will enable the institutes to operate their servers independently of location. The Vlans are then transported using VXLAN technology.

The connection to the TU network will be carried out during the specified period. There should be no interruption or impairment of network services. However, since this is a new technology, a brief interruption cannot be ruled out 100%.

Our team will carefully monitor the conversion process to ensure that all network functions are stable and available again afterwards.
