Firewall upgrade with possible downtime on February 6, 2025

Hardware upgrade to new firewall systems

Dear colleagues and students!

We would like to inform you that we will be replacing our existing firewall systems with new firewall systems on Thursday, February 6, 2025, in order to further improve the security and functionality of our network.

The hardware replacement will be carried out in a maintenance window from 6:00 p.m. to midnight. We have taken all necessary measures to minimise possible interruptions in access to network services and to avoid outages. Should a short outage nevertheless occur, it is expected to last only a few minutes.

To minimise the impact of any downtime, the migration will take place outside of normal core working hours. Our team will carefully monitor the entire migration process to ensure that all network functions remain as stable and available as possible during this time.
