Changes at Zoom

From now on, students will receive Zoom free of charge without an ordering process and billing for employees will be switched to direct billing.

The extension of the Zoom contract entails two changes:

Students: From now on, all students with software subscription entitlement will not only receive the Microsoft Office A3 license, but also Zoom as basic equipment automatically without any ordering process. This means that Zoom is immediately available for communication, just like Teams and all other Office apps.

Employees: Zoom could previously be ordered by employees free of charge without an approval process and was charged back annually via the faculties. To increase transparency and improve license management, Zoom will be switched back to direct billing. From the 3rd quarter (1.10.2024), €3.20/quarter will therefore be charged per named Zoom license for employees. If you do not agree with this billing change, please cancel your Zoom license by 30.9.2024.
