CompuServe Makes $100 Million Move On Spry WEBster

Seattle, Wash.

In a move expected to strengthen its online business
and put its users on the World Wide Web before the end of April,
CompuServe has purchased Spry Inc., maker of the AIR Mosaic series,
Internet-In-A-Box and SafteyWEB.

 

The $100 million deal, described by Thomas M. Bloch, president of H & R
Block, CompuServe's parent company, as "the largest ever in the rapidly
growing Internet industry", is expected to close in 30 days.
